「Metabolism Mediator」

"Only air doesn’t need to breathe"

Metabolic Mediator is an interactive art 
installation set with an inflatable space filled with 
carbon dioxide gas. The contours of the inflatable 
structure undulate and shift in response to the 
presence and movements of the viewers. As 
human footsteps intervene, its expansion presses 
against the passageway.
Carbon is the foundation of organic matter, 
thereby organic life earns the designation of 
carbon-based life. Carbon dioxide, in the context 
of life's interaction with the environment, serves 
as a crucial medium for respiratory metabolism 
and photosynthesis. The dynamic breathing of 
the inflatable structure metaphorically reflects 
the ecological life processes of our planet — a 
reflection of the contemplation and mapping of 
carbon neutrality.
