「Visionscape」
SciArt Co-Lab
Visionscape dissects the mechanisms of vision, explores the heterogeneity of biological vision and the barriers of perception across species, challenging the anthropocentric nature of perception and AI’s role as a “visual translator” between species? When AI simulates the visual systems of various creatures— the scale, form, and color spectrum perceived by animals, insects, or pets, it deconstructs our assumed reality. Is AI faithfully restoring biological perception, or is it producing an illusion structured by human data and models? Are we breaking free from cognitive inertia, or does it reinforce a more intricate human-centric perceptual bubble? Is this an act of mirroring human perception, or do we truly glimpse through the eyes of the other? If different species perceive reality differently, is reality itself merely a construct, shaped by the interplay of biology, cognition, and sensory experience? This is an experiment in expanding human sensory limits and also a deep inquiry into cognitive structures.
